Our mission is to bring together diverse interests to care for and recover rivers and streams so our children can experience the joy of wild and native trout and salmon.
Welcome
Thank you for visiting us here at the Greater Boston Chapter of Trout Unlimited (GBTU). Representing Trout Unlimited in the Greater Boston metropolitan area, we are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to conservation, education and community service across New England. If you are new to the chapter and interested in learning more or getting involved, we are eager to hear from you.
First thing's first, you should subscribe to our monthly newsletter to stay up-to-date with chapter news.
If you're native to Facebook or Instagram, you can follow us there as well, following the links in the footer. From there, learn more about joining the chapter, volunteering and donating. Please also explore the other links on the website to learn more about events and outings, fishing opportunities and info in the area, and more details on the chapter's conservation, education and community service work. Also, please feel free to reach out to us directly at info@gbtu.org.
We welcome passionate conservationists and anglers of all ages and abilities and look forward to meeting you soon.
You do not need to join to attend GBTU events; however, membership will give you preference on club outings, plus it helps support the chapter.
Our Mission
To bring together diverse interests to care for and recover rivers and streams so our children can experience the joy of wild and native trout and salmon.
Our Vision
For communities across America to engage in the work of repairing and renewing the rivers, streams and other waters on which we all depend.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Commitment
We are committed to embracing diversity, equity and inclusion in everything that we do. Our goal is to build a community that welcomes people of all races, ages, religious backgrounds, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, economic backgrounds and people with differing abilities.
Who We Are
Founded in 1959, Trout Unlimited is a national nonprofit organization with 300,000 members and supporters dedicated to conserving, protecting and restoring America’s cold water fisheries and their watersheds. The Greater Boston Chapter of Trout Unlimited (GBTU) has a long history of supporting cold water conservation and restoration projects through generous volunteer and financial support of projects in the region. In 2018 GBTU adopted the Neponset River Watershed as our home waters and works to restore and protect cold water streams within the watershed. From river cleanups, scientific assessments and restoration projects in our home waters, the Neponset River Watershed, to teaching middle & high school students about caring for the environment through the love of fly fishing. GBTU provides a myriad of opportunities for anyone interested or curious to get involved. Come to a meeting, join us for an event, or reach out if you have questions! We would love to share our mission with you and introduce you to the joys cold, clean water can bring.
